Document Management in FileMaker – SuperContainer and DocuBin
There is no need to make your data file huge by storing images in FileMaker. Even though the container fields might look enticing, there are solutions out there that can handle this task much better. One of these has been SuperContainer for me, which I implemented for a great number of clients.
SuperContainer is the easiest way to upload, view, and download files to and from any FileMaker database, plus it offers numerous advantages over FileMaker’s built-in container field: faster speeds, smaller file sizes, web browser uploads, and cross-platform file path compatibility.
Now we also have DocuBin, a FileMaker Pro system created for document and digital asset management. It has a simple, intuitive interface that is based on modern operating system file views, but offers numerous features unavailable in standard file servers, such as:
